Local producer Lukasz Koprowski share’s his thoughts on Electronic Music along with his newest tracks…

Lukasz Koprowski, 25, is a trained musician from Poland, playing the guitar, bass, violin and piano. Now living in Key West, Lukasz is focusing on his music and making a name for himself in the Electronic Community.

When did you first get introduced to electronic music?

“My first experience with electronic music was in 2004 when I attended the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Academy in Szczecin, Poland. I discovered Aphex Twin, Photek, Lawrence and Jan Jelinek. I was intrigued by the possibilities of creating sounds in an unexpected way but still keeping this eclectic taste and harmony that you get with Classical and Jazz music, which I love.”

What inspires you as an artist?

“My inspiration comes from many sources such as music, film, art, or nature. I just grab a little bit from each one. When I start to create a sound I never know how it’s going to end up, and that’s what excites me. There’s no rule’s on how to begin. You might hear the melody at any place or time. I will just write it down, then put the pieces together. The process for me is spontaneous, I can change the direction at any time.”

Have you worked with any other producers?

“Yes, I’m currently working with MOFW (Man of Few Words). He is a hip-hop producer from Szczecin, Poland. I’ve worked with him since 2003. Whenever I am back at home we always get together to work on music. Right now we are collaborating with MC Gremlin from South London on a compilation made up of polish producers from MySpace. It will be a mix of hip hop, trip hop, DnB, Dubstep and electronica.”

What software/equipment do you use to produce with?

“I have a 100-year-old french Violin with an SD System and LCM 110 (acoustic mic), a Steinberg electric guitar, a Novation 25SL. and an Mbox 2 audio interface. For software I use Ableton 8, Pro Tools 8 and Reaktor 5.”
