Azuli predicts the sound of WMC 2010

The winter gloves are off. Dance music needs a new manicure. With Miami’s Winter Music Conference just around the corner, DJs are busy filling their record boxes with the latest and greatest beats they can get their hands on.

David Piccioni from Azuli is a seasoned pro when it comes to predicting what tracks will be big at WMC. His London record label has flown the flag for house music since 1991, and the imprint has released a Miami WMC compilation every March for the last ten years.

Azuli’s success at cultivating WMC bombs comes from Piccioni’s ability to sniff out mainroom growers – tracks that were released some time ago, but have yet to realise their full dancefloor potential – and wonderful new rhythms that by the year’s end, will be bona fide club anthems.

With every man and his blog pondering what tunes will be big in Miami’s clubs and beach parties at the end of this month, we called up our trustworthy compadre, the old Mr. Piccioni, to lead our anthem guessing ceremony (which will run throughout March).
